Multifunctional role of women as a key driver for rural development. Co creation event MORE - IDP

On 3 November 2022 took place the third Co-creation event of the MORE project organized by the partner IDP sas. The event, which was held in Guardiagrele (Abruzzo Region, Italy) allowed to reach several local firms to validate and improve part of the project training.

On the basis of the feedbacks collected during the previous co-creation events – focusing on the training needs for rural women and the concept of multifuncionality – IDP has developed a first draft of the module “Entrepreneurship”.

The material produced has been presented to the third co-creation event’s participants, in order to collect feedbacks and tips for improvement, as well as to explore entrepreneurial opportunities for women within the local context.

The topics tackled by the IDP module that have been explored during the event are:

  • Idea and design of a business model (tools and opportunities for women)
  • How to support the target group in:
    • Designing and validating products / services
    • How to improve economic viability for potential entrepreneurs coming from rural areas
  • Gaining better knowledge of the market and the clientele

Positive feedbacks and inputs have been collected and they will be integrated within the training so to improve the quality of the material and its coherence with local needs and opportunities.

The MORE project "Multifunctional role of women as a key driver for rural development" aims to improve the access to, and the quality of, training opportunities and qualifications of rural EU women. The realities of women's lives in rural areas have become more diverse in recent decades. In today's society, women assume a "multifunctional role" in the multi-faced context of their families (i.e., child and elderly care) and social and labour ties. This multiplicity of roles contributes significantly to improvement of their families' quality of life, as well as rural socio-economic development, civic engagement, and ways of rethinking the territorial contexts.
